India@ 62: The `Big B’ang and after!
12345
Yes, Big `B’ needs no introduction. It would be too much of a task to describe how big his presence has been in Indian cinema. Yet, how can one be silent on him when we think of the legends who made their indelible imprints in the collective Indian consciousness in the post-independence era?
So, what difference did Amitabh Bachchan make in Indian cinema? Is it the bigger mass base that he created with the help of his charismatic persona or the power with which he established the angry young man cult? Or s it his adaptability to play any kind of roles and re-invent himself in changing times that made him the biggest star ever in Indian cinema? Perhaps, it is all these qualities and more than that transformed the gawky, gangling youth from UP into the beloved Big B for millions of Indians.
