Thiruvananthapuram city and conference premises “Jyothi Basu Nagar” have been converted to a red city by red banners, red flags and big hoardings with pictures of National leaders and Martyrs.
Com. Tapan Sen, M.P. and General Secretary, CITU called upon the workers to continue sustained struggle against anti-worker policies of Central Government.
Shri S.R. Kapoor, Executive Director (Finance) Shri K. Srinivasan, CGM, Kerala as also leaders of sister unions, Coms. G.L. Jogi, Prahlad Rai, V. Subburaman, Suresh Kumar, K.K. Gopakumar, Siva Sankaran and others addressed the seminar on “Challenges faced by PSUs with special reference to BSNL”. The seminar was unanigurated by Shri Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Hon’ble Minister of Home & Tourism.
Coms. M.M. Lawrence, Secretary CITU, Muthusundaran (AISGEF) Kunhikrishnan (AIIEA) K.G. Jayaraj (AIBDPA) M. Krishnan (Confederation, NFPE) addressed the inaugural session.
All the delegates appreciated the excellent arrangements made by the Reception Committee led by Coms. Anavoor Nagappan (Chairman) R. Muralidharan Nair (Wkg. Chairman) K. Mohanan (General Convenor) and P.V. Chandrasekharan, Veteran Leader of Telecom Workers for accommodation, food, conduct of the conference etc.
Com. J.N. Mishra, President is presiding the AIC. Coms. V.A.N. Namboodiri, General Secretary presented the report and Com. S.C. Bhattacharjee, Treasurer, presented the accounts.

Com. Moni Bose, Veteran leader of Telecom Workers is in hospital in ICU for the last few weeks due to serious illness. We wish for his early recovery.
CHQ donated Rs. One lakh towards the huge expenditure for treatment.

MAGNIFICENT ACHIEVEMENT !!!
WAGE AGREEMENT SIGNED – WAGE REVISION ORDERS ISSUED
As assured by the Director (HR) yesterday to Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, GS, BSNLEU, the wage agreement was signed by Shri Gopal Das, Director (HR ) on behalf of management and Com V.A.N. Namboodiri, General Secretary, BSNLEU on behalf of the recognised union in the presence many leaders of the United Forum and officers of BSNL.
This magnificent achievement could be obtained due to the wholehearted support of the workers. We had to face several adverse conditions, the attacks from certain quarters and also very hard bargaining with the management. We had to resort to strike and agitations for getting this great achievement.
