Union opposed the proposals of the Management for reduction of staff strength using CDA Rules-2006:

Union- was invited by the management for a discussion on VRS/CRS & recommendations of BRPSE on 20/04/2011. On behalf of the management Dir(HRD), Sr.GM(Estt), Sr.GM(SR), GM(Personal), GM(Restructuring) attended this meeting. The management put forth the following proposals for our consideration.

1. As per Rule-55 of BSNL CDA Rules-2006 employees who completed 55 years of age and could not perform duty due to ill health could be retired after recommending their cases to medical board.

2. As per Rule-55 of BSNL CDA Rules-2006 employees who completed 55 years of age and got 2 average CR entries could be retired after a show cause notice.

3. Employees who wish to go on voluntary retirement after completion of 55 years age may be permitted to retire voluntarily with full pension benefit for the remaining 5 years of service.

Since all the above proposals were aimed at reduction of staff by hook or crook, Union  rejected all these proposals and opposed the move of the management to implement the recommendations of both the Sam Pitroda committee and BRPSE indirectly.

Union calls upon all to be more vigilant to oppose and stop the retrenchment policy of the Management.
