[05.03.2012]Issue of order on NE 12 pay scale is likely to be delayed

Issuing of order by Corporate Office, on NE 12 pay scale, is likely to be delayed. The DoT, while giving approval, has stated that the pay scale can be introduced after making necessary modification in the Promotion Policy. Since the Promotion Policy (NEPP) has been implemented with the approval of the Board of Directors, any modification to the Promotion Policy, should also be approved by the Board of Directors. Hence, issue of order on the NE 12 pay scale is likely to be delayed. However, we have been told that date of effect of the NE 12 pay scale will be 22.02.2012, i.e., the date on which DoT approved the pay scale. CHQ is taking efforts, to release the order as early as possible.



[03.03.2012]Government seeks review of 2G ruling



The Central Government has urged the Supreme Court yesterday the 02-03-2012, to review the 2G judgment. The Government has stated that auctioning of 2G licenses would adversely affect and hamper the objective of promoting teledensity in semi-urban and rural areas. It has also stated that the ‘first come first served’ policy had the twin objective of a level playing field as well as providing affordability.





[03.03.2012]Government receives Rs.9,029 crore as dividend in Q3, from 14 PSUs.



The Government has received Rs.9,029 crore as dividend from 14 Public Sector Companies for the quarter ended in December, as against Rs.6,467 crore received in the same period last year. This is an increase of 40%. ONGC topped the list with a payment of Rs.3,996 crore. This was followed by NTPC with Rs.2,439 crore.



[02.03.2012]UPA Govt. sells 5% shares in ONGC.

Unmindful of the strong protests from the Indian working class, the UPA Government has sold 5% shares in the ONGC, yesterday the 01-03-2012. ONGC is a highly profit earning PSU of the GOVT. of India. Govt. has sold 29.22 crore shares and has mobilized an amount of Rs.8,500 crore. However, the dream of the Govt. to mobilize Rs.12,000 crore from the sale of ONGC shares did not materialize.



[02.03.2012]Allow officiating JTOs in the 33% SDE exam to be held on 04.03.2012

CHQ wrote a letter dated 02.03.2012 to the GM (Rectt.) BSNL CO requesting for allowing all the officiating JTOs in the 33% quota SDE (Telecom) exam to be held on 04.03.2012, provisionally, subject to the final order of the CAT Jabalpur in the O.A. No.333/2010.
